FEBRUARY

I am not afraid to say I am glad January is almost over. Not my best sales month as compared to last year when I sold 114 books, but that was on the heels of the release of Red in the Morning, which as I know, if you want to sell books, write more books.

Speaking of writing more books, hopefully, by the end of this week, the second draft of Last Light, the 4th and last book of the Red At Night series will be complete. This is a huge step as I take all the individual chapters as separate word documents and blend them all in as one book. Once this is complete, the beta reading team and I will read over it, then it will probably go to a 3rd draft and possibly 4th draft before I am happy.

My friend Morgan has been given the green light to start on the cover and I can’t wait to see how he takes my rough idea and turns it into a masterpiece like he did with First Light.

To help build sales and combat the winter doldrums my family and I have been venturing out to do random book signings. Check out the blog post I wrote about it here

I have to give my wife credit; those videos she makes are awesome, and I can’t wait to do more.

I am sure you have noticed some... housekeeping that has been done to the website. Along with changing the book descriptions, I have also changed the “Buy Russel a Scotch” page to “Investing in the Craft”. Check it out.

Investing in the Craft

If you feel the notion to help fund my dream, I feel you need to know exactly where that money is going, now you know the goal and what your money is actually doing.

Last but certainly not least has been my quest to rebuild my Author Talk Series. I absolutely love getting out and talking to readers. I love the questions, the atmosphere, and the chance to hear real feedback. Coming soon there will be a page posting my schedule, and I hope to see you at one of my author talks.

Well, I hope February treats us all well. Soon we will be getting out of the cold winter and breaking into the brightness of spring.

Have a good February readers!
