Technically, the astronomical end of summer isn't until September 22nd. I don't know about you, but I’ve had one astronomical summer—it was truly out of this world! I know, I know... I’ll find a... space... for all these dad jokes. They are kind of universal. 

Speaking of great dad jokes, Brent Slater will be providing live entertainment at the upcoming launch party for Last Light on October 3rd, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Brady's in Boothbay Harbor. He’ll be performing classic hits from the Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, and many more. Plus, I have my fingers crossed that a few fellow Maine authors might make a guest appearance! 

As of today, we are at 4005 books sold across the series! 238 books sold this month 178 of those are Last Light in just the past few days.  

Reflecting back on the season, how was your summer? Did you take a trip, spend a day at the beach, or catch any lobster boat races? My family and I took a weekend trip to Quebec City, which I highly recommend. There is a lot of history there, along with many great restaurants—be sure to visit Parc de la Chute-Montmorency! 

With the end of summer comes the beginning of something wonderful, although those going back to school don't realize how wonderful it is until they're out. This father of two finds himself in a state of disbelief: both the kiddos that I used to hold in one arm and swing around are starting their first year of High School and Middle School. I know these years go by fast, and I hope I don't blink.

I can't tell you how eager I am for you to read Last Light—there are a few specific moments in the story I particularly can't wait for readers to experience.
