Brady’s: A Community Cornerstone in Boothbay Harbor

Brady’s in Boothbay Harbor is much more than just a place to grab a burger; it’s a community cornerstone with a story that is uniquely Maine. Known for its welcoming atmosphere and local heart, it remains a "pawsitive" fixture in the harbor year-round.

The Story Behind the Name

The restaurant is famously named after Brady, a beloved cocker spaniel rescued from a dumpster in South Carolina who went on to become a local legend. For years, Brady served as the restaurant's "celebrity greeter," welcoming everyone from neighborhood regulars to famous visitors like Ewan McGregor. Though Brady passed away in late 2025, his legacy of hospitality remains at the very heart of the business.

This year, a new furry face is joining the team: Maye, a friendly Berna-basset (named after Drake Maye), who will be carrying on the tradition of greeting customers.

Atmosphere & Experience

Located at 25 Union Street, Brady’s offers a cozy, "neighborhood pub" feel. It is one of the few spots in the area that stays open through all four seasons—a rarity in many Maine coastal towns.

  • The View: A spacious harborfront deck provides stunning views of the water, perfect for summer afternoons.

  • The Vibe: Inside, the space transforms into a lively sports bar with multiple TVs, making it the premier go-to spot for game days.

  • The Service: Owned by Jennie and Todd Plummer, the restaurant is celebrated for its upbeat, attentive service. Todd is a fourth-generation lobsterman with deep roots in the community—some may even remember him from the days of Wotton's Wharf.

What’s on the Menu?

This season, Brady’s is leaning into an "old school" coastal menu featuring fresh, hearty favorites:

  • New Seasonal Features: Baked Stuffed Haddock, Lobster Rolls, and "Down East" Steak.

  • Weekend Specials: Don't miss the Baked Stuffed Lobster and Prime Rib, served every Friday and Saturday.

  • Seafood Classics: Haddock sandwiches (prepared grilled, blackened, or fried)."

  • Pub Fare: A variety of specialty burgers, pulled pork sandwiches, and "Todd’s Tots."

  • Maine Craft Drinks: A curated selection of local Maine beers is always on tap to pair with your meal.

Whether you’re visiting for the magic of Boothbay Lights in the winter or seeking a sun-drenched spot on the deck in July, Brady’s is consistently rated as one of the best local hangouts in the harbor.
