Hermione Back Story

Imagine for a moment, you are muggle parents, you don’t even know the word muggle. The only “magic” you have ever seen is card tricks and the rent-a-magician at a birthday party. Odd things start happening around your toddler, you can’t explain. A baby rattle hovers in the air momentarily; things that are out of her reach seem to appear in her hand suddenly. One day you notice a strange cat lurking around your house and neighborhood. That evening there is a knock on the door. You open it to find an older woman dressed in dark clothes and eyeglasses with small lenses halfway down the bridge of her nose.  

“Hello, I am Professor McGonagall, I have come to talk to you about the strange things happening around your daughter” 

The lady talks for a while and though you are listening, you can’t believe what you are hearing. Hogwarts? Ministry of Magic? Witchcraft and Wizardry?  

Over the next few years this, Professor makes several visits, once coming out of the fireplace! On one visit another older, bearded man comes and introduces himself as Dumbledoor, the headmaster.  

Then it arrives, the formal letter inviting your now 11-year-old girl to spend the entire school year away from home.  

Looking at Hermione’s story from the eyes of her parents would make for a great story.
